Cross Hatch Cutter Kits Elcometer 1542

The Elcometer 1542 is ideal for measuring the cross-hatch adhesion of coatings up to 250µm (9.8mils) on flat surfaces and test panels

Measure on large or small panels by quickly changing the position of the guide wheel using the hexagonal wrench provided. Each cross hatch cutter wheel consists of 8 cutting faces. When one face becomes worn, rotate the cutting wheel to the next face.

The Elcometer 1542 is available with three different cutter spacings:

• 1mm spacing – for coating thickness 0 – 60µm (0 – 2.4mils)
• 2mm spacing – for coating thickness 50 – 125µm (2.0 – 5.0mils)
• 3mm spacing – for coating thickness 121 – 250µm (4.8 – 9.8mils)

The Elcometer 1542 cross hatch cutter is available on its own (Basic Kit) or as a Full Kit which includes a brush, magnifier & ISO or ASTM adhesive tape. There are also Advanced Kits which include all three (1, 2 & 3mm) cross-hatch adhesion testers, together with either ISO or ASTM D3359 Cross Hatch Adhesion Test Tape.

Elcometer 1542 Cross Hatch Adhesion Tester

This Elcometer 1542 Cross Hatch Adhesion Tester is ideal for measuring the cross hatch adhesion of coatings up to 60µm (2.4mils) on flat surfaces and test panels.

Measure on large or small panels by quickly changing the position of the guide wheel using the hexagonal wrench provided. Each cutter wheel consists of eight cutting faces. When one face becomes worn, simply rotate the cutting wheel to the next face to continue testing.

This Basic Kit includes the Elcometer 1542 Cross Hatch Adhesion Tester, a 6 x 1mm cutter wheel, a cutter angle adjustment tool, a hexagonal wrench, a transit case, a user guide.

The Elcometer 1542 Cross Hatch Cutter is also available in two other cutter spacings, 2mm (50 -125µm / 2 – 5.0mils) and 3mm (121 – 250µm/ 4.8 – 9.8mils), for a range of coating thicknesses.

This product is also available in a Full Kit, which includes all of the items in the Basic Kit, in addition to a brush, a x10 magnifier, and your choice of either ISO or ASTM adhesive tape.

Advanced Kits are also available, which include all three (1, 2, and 3mm) cross hatch adhesion cutters, together with all the other items included in the Basic Kit and Full Kits, as well as your choice of either ISO or ASTM D3359 Cross Hatch Adhesion Test Tape.
